Lexacom Talk and Type provides a complete, end-to-end dictation management package for computer networks.

It combines "Talk" and "Type", offering a streamlined dictation process for increased efficiency. "Talk" allows you to digitally record, edit, prioritise and distribute your dictations via your PC.

Dictations are then delivered in high quality digital audio to selected users of "Type" for transcription. Powerful administration capabilities are integrated into the Lexacom Talk and Type, which enable the settings to be customised to suit individual requirements.

Lexacom Talk Features:

Using Lexacom Talk, you can record, edit, prioritise and distribute your dictations from any PC, whether in the office or on the move. Lexacom Talk improves workflow, efficiency and accuracy by immediately delivering prioritised dictations in a digital audio format to typists based on any location.

* Dictations can be recorded directly into the PC via a Philips SpeechMike or a headset microphone.

* Users can record dictations from remote sites using mobile communication technology and send them over a network or from standalone PCs via email.

* Complete dictations are sent instantly to a selected secretary or secretarial pool

* All dictations are recorded in high quality digital audio

* Precise digital editing allows insertion or removal of even single words

* Each dictation is given a priority rating and descriptive data (e.g. "Urgent")

* Detailed tracking features allow monitoring of the progress of each dictation (see whether your dictation is "waiting", "selected by secretary", "held", or "typed")

* Recipient labels (e.g. client/patient) can be tailored to suit individual professions

Lexacom Type improves workflow, efficiency and accuracy by immediately delivering prioritised dictation in a digital audio format to the typists.

* Dictations can be received via e-mail or imported from any removable storage media.

* The programme enables typists to receive dictations remotely, on any stand-alone PC from any user of Lexacom Talk.

* Dictations are received via email and dropped directly into the Lexacom Type display

* Immediate delivery of individual dictations ensures even workload distribution

* Users receive audible and visual notification of new dictations

* Details of each dictation are listed in priority order on the Lexacom Type display.

* Lexacom Type offers complete hands free control over audio through the use of programmable foot pedals.

* Typists double-click on the required dictation and control its playback through headphones or speakers, using a programmable three-button foot control.

* High quality digital audio reduces the risk of transcription errors

* Typists can be assigned to any number of typing pools

* Administrators can establish how long completed dictations remain archived

Lexacom software will run on any Windows-based PC, subject to the following minimum recommendations:

* Windows '95 (rev 4.00.950a or higher)

* Windows '98 or NT (v4 or higher)

* Windows 2000 and Windows XP

* Minimum of 64 Mb RAM (128 Mb recommended for NT, 2000 and XP)

* Minimum of 300 Mb free hard disk space

* Windows compatible sound card with speakers or headphones

* Lexacom Talk only: Windows compatible microphone

* Lexacom Type only: Spare Com or USB port
